The Syrian Humanitarian Relief and Development Institute Najda-Now was established to support the displaced Syrian society in this overwhelming crisis. The crisis is all encompassing, and includes massive threats to development, health, education and civil society. Najda Now International works both inside and outside Syria to try to ensure that displaced Syrians can come out of this crisis and start building a modern democratic civil state. Najda Now in Lebanon focuses on providing direct humanitarian support, and assistance in the field of emergency, psycho-social care, building civil society and eradicating illiteracy through quality education services. Najda Now works to ensure that development is sustainable, which means raising awareness so that users of its services can become self-reliant rather than developing a dependency on the service provider As an organization, NNI also works on improving the means to overcome the obstacles refugees are faced with as a result the crisis, as well as assisting them in discovering their inner strengths, resilience and resources by employing a ‘strength based approach’. In order to implement this broad based humanitarian strategy, NNI welcomes any unconditioned assistance from local and international organizations, whilst remaining politically neutral. Assistance is provided to refugees in need, regardless of age, gender, sect, religion or political affiliation. Members of the organization also undertake to respect professional ethics and maintain complete independence from all political, economic, or religious forces. The NNI masters its work with complete neutrality and impartiality and with noble human morality. We commit to extend a helping hand and request the full freedom to work unhindered in the exercise of our functions anywhere.
