Aleppo Under Fire
After more than 12 days of daily airstrikes issued by Syrian and its Allies Airforces on civilians and medical facilities, there are more than 200 people dead, more than 50 of them are children, and three medical facilities are fully destroyed; one of them was Al-Marjah primary healthcare center fully supported by UOSSM in parternship with UN-OCHA served 46,338 patients before distrcution, 65% of them children and women (see below), two doctors lost their lives, with the continuation of war actions; only in the last week of April 2016, an onslaught of airstrikes in the Syrian city of Aleppo has killed scores of people with many more buried under their own homes. Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) is launching an emergency crowdfunding campaign to change #AleppoIsBurning to #AleppoIsHealing. We will keep saving lives and defeating war.
Our doctors, paramedics, and nurses, women and men are still defying war and building peace through saving the lives of everyone.
A Life Sustaining Tool
Ambulance and evacuation system AES (established by UOSSM in partnership with UN World Health Organization WHO) for critical cases of injured civilians due to airstrikes and warfare, during the transferring process to the nearest hospitals, needs your contribution to support its operations and continue its service to sustain the survival of the Syrians on the Syrian land. More details about the accomplishments of the UOSSM AES are illustrated in the following figure:
Despite of these magnificent facts; the support of the system was planned to be for 3 months upon its launch, a period that elapses by May, 15th, 2016.
Where your Funds fits in UOSSM AES
UOSSM has already procured 20 vehicles and equipped them with the necessary instruments in the establishment of AES, your contribution will fit in the following components for 3 months:
-- ٍSalaries of 20 paramedics in addition to 20 drivers.
-- Fuel and maintenance for vehicles.
-- Emergency kits of medications and consumables for injured transferred patients.
-- Administrative and coordination (communications, stationary and logistics) for AES control staff.
UOSSM would like to note that whatever raised funds that exceed the target of this campaign will be employed to extend the period of operating the AES as much as you can donate, and secure more lives as much as you devote.
