THE STORY
Inspired by our breakup stories, Before We Heal happens all during one morning, over coffee. Saleem and Yumna, two ex lovers meet at Yumna's place. The miscommunication takes over. Saleem enters the toilet and somehow gets stuck.
Between the inside and the outside, trials and disappointments, laughter and hope, passion and pain are all being shared at the doorstep, until Yumna takes the unexpected decision... The decision to heal.

WHY THIS STORY?
We've all been through the roughest love stories. We've all thought that no one has ever felt our pain and that we're alone.
But guess what? You're not. We're not.
Before We Heal is an empathy film.
However, this film will not change the world but I hope its cinematic approach, realness, music and lines will make you get up one more time and chase life before chasing love.
Help me make it happen.

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP?
It's been 4 years since I shot my senior film. I genuinely miss working with actors to tell a story, transmit emotions, spend sleepless nights behind the editing software to then submit "my little baby" to festivals, get it accepted and live the excitement of the theater experience. From a simple story/emotion, to a shared cinematic moment with a public from around the world: it's thrilling.
Today this is what I want to do for life and I'm more than ready to shoot a new film. But let's be realistic here, with the burning passion comes the financial struggle.
Funding an independent short film can be a real hassle especially for young filmmakers in the MENA region. This story is very heartfelt and needs to be shot within the next months. Going through funding programs and competitions, then waiting for months to get answers will only limit and extinguish my passion to share this story with you.
So today I need your help to collect the 10,000 USD to start all the necessary preparations, get to the filming stage, and then premiere the film by the end of 2017. An amazing crew who believes in this project is working with me to make it happen. The script is locked. It's time to execute.
The 10,000 USD will be divided in the following way:
25% : Equipment
23% : Production Design
20%: Post-Production
15%: Production Facilities
10%: Necessary Fees
7%: Festivals submission
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Every donation will help us produce this film.
If you can't donate, share our Zoomaal page on your social media accounts.
Odds are, that somebody you know, knows somebody, who would like to help make it happen!
