Feeling lost and don't know what all of this is about?

The Idea
Lebanon faced random terrorist attacks in the winter of 2013-14, leaving the citizens in a stressful and anxious state. This period brought the Lebanese together as they united against this fear and the attacks. Which inspired me to write the script "Blown up Perspectives"

Youmna is a Lebanese citizen, living in Beirut during this period and while she is usually an anxious person, the events and attacks weren't in her favor. And after reading on the news the story of a man that died in an exploding window near a bombed area, Youmna is now obsessed in changing her glass office window, as now it is a threat to her life. The window now represents all her fears. She needs to persuade the management into getting her way, while this obsession and her blown up perspective will definitely effect her inter company relations, other people's perspectives of her, and her social sanity.

"Blown up Perspectives" tells the story of this young lady, who is a specimen the citizens of Beirut, where the security status affected her personal and professional life, causing various issues to surface. It is a cynical approach to the situation we lived in during that period, and how as citizens we founds ways around this landmine like area.

Behind the scenes
I am a Cinema and Television graduate, and I currently work as post production producer in Media production company in Lebanon.
I spend the better part of my days bringing to life the films of other companies and the greater part of my nights dreaming of finally producing my first independent film.

Earlier this year, I was part of a screenwriting workshop, where I developed my first screenplay, and now I am hoping to produce it into a film, marking the debut of my career as an independent  film maker.

 The Funding
To make a movie, we requires actors, locations, a crew, equipment, transportation, catering and an unlimited stash of candies to keep everyone happy on set. And in order to supply all of those, a set amount of funding is required.

The production process is divided into 3 parts:

- Pre-Production: It involves mainly breaking down the script, and finding locations and actors that fit the roles and the vision of the director. This period requires funding for casting session and for location hunting, as well as renting them eventually.

- Production (Shooting): At this stage we collect the ingredients for the film. This is when the film is being filmed, this phase requires most of the funding. Where day to day spending (catering, transportation, etc..) is required as well as crew and equipment rental.

- Post Production: This is the cooking phase, where all ingredients are finalized together for the ultimate result. This includes editing, graphics and animation, color grading, music composing and sound mixing. It is putting the final touches on the film before releasing it.

- Distribution: For everyone to see this film, well, it needs to be distributed. The funding at this stage goes mainly for transforming the movie format to fit to cinema and booking theaters, and of course buying fancy dresses for the red carpet :)

The temptation:
I had always believed that speaking of a problem can release tension and resolve matters. And I would like to think so about this humble script as well. It is my way to share the fear my society lived it, and translate it to an understandable language, to whoever refused to listen.

To anyone reading this, I am merely a dreamer running after my dream. I have no credibility but my word. It's my first independent script, and I can only present it to you as my greatest achievement so far and I want YOU to be part of it.

I will not use my academic nor my professional background to prove myself, but ask every contributor to believe in this project.

Finally, Zoomaal will not only allow you to contribute financially, you can help us spread the word and introduce this project to those who can.

And never forget that: You give a little love, and it'll all come back to you :)
