If you had the chance to help someone with a mental illness, how many people would you help?
One? Two? Forty two?
How about #onemore?
People in Lebanon sometimes don’t even know they can seek treatment for their mood disorder, their eating disorder, personality disorder or even stress- and so they suffer in silence.
That’s why we want to bring attention to mental health: it is #onemore health care that should be a basic right within our society.
That’s why IDRAAC is participating in the Beirut Marathon, to spread awareness about mental health.
That’s why it’s important for us to have your #onemore support.
Dr. Georges Karam, a psychiatrist who founded IDRAAC, is running the 42 kilometer race on 11 November 2018: he wants to raise money to treat over 1,000 people who can’t afford mental health care.
1 in 4 Lebanese will have a mental illness during their lifetime.
1 in 6 will have anxiety.
1 in 8 will have depression.
1 in 20 will seriously consider suicide.
However, only 1 out of 10 will get treated.
You can help #onemore person get treated, you can talk about it #onemore time, and you can run with us at the Beirut Marathon.
By choosing to help IDRAAC, you are #onemore reason for someone to get better.
You are helping someone with a mental disorder, giving them #onemore chance at a normal life.
Talk about it #onemore time, share it with #onemore friend, help #onemore.
If you have any questions about mental health disorders, or you know someone who needs treatment, don't hesitate to contact IDRAAC on 76 10 05 76 or firstname.lastname@example.org
