Alexis Neme works in language engineering. He developed: - an Arabic Text-To-Speech (TTS) used in http://translate.google.com; - an Arabic Language Resource based on transducers (FST); - a spell-checker for OCR mistakes which overlook French accents; - the French generation module in a rule-based Machine Translation. Alexis is French/ Lebanese and speaks English, French, Arabic, and Portuguese. Language Technologies Language Resources: construction, encoding, maintenance and exploitation of lexicons, grammars and annotated corpora. Natural Language Processing, Text-To-Speech, phonology, NER-Named Entity Recognition, spell checkers. Nehme Nehme worked as project manager, coordinator, technical director, trainer of trainers and consultant in several projects for local and international NGOs. Also worked as educator in a network of schools, and researcher in the cultural, educational and social fields. He is also an artist in Dramatic arts, writer, theater and video director, and an artistic director. He published many articles in local newspapers and magazines about the Media’s effects on public and the role of pictures in educational books. Nehme is a multidisciplinary skilled person, knows Arabic, French and English and Audiovisual software and tools. He participated in many seminars and conferences in the Mediterranean region.
