The spark of the revolution in Syria broke out when children from Daraa al-Balad (Al-Arbaeen neighborhood) wrote slogans on the school wall (the 40th school) affected by the Arab revolutions. The security forces arrested them and tortured them physically.
In Syria, 3.7 million Syrian children have come to life since the beginning of the so-called Arab Spring. Today, 2.3 million people live in tents and 2.1 million have been out of school since the beginning of the crisis. Children account for 68% of all Syrian refugees between the ages of 6 and 20, who have lost and left behind years of study
In Libya, 20% of children have also dropped out of school since the beginning of the Libyan crisis
In Yemen, 2 million children were cut off from school after 3,600 schools were destroyed by the shelling
And 600,000 were unable to pass the examinations due to continuous shelling
In Iraq, nearly 5 million children have been affected by the crisis and 4 million children are no longer able to attend school
While every month 75 children are born in humanitarian camps
I'm Zinab Hadaji and I tell the story of the Arab Spring on the tongue of animals for these children so that they can understand what happened what is happening and what will may happen.
The idea is to write a an illustrated fable telling the story of the Arab Spring on the lips of animals aimed at children from the age of 5 to 15 years and is set in a forest whose inhabitants have decided to revolt against their king and his followers who are corrupting and humiliating the weak animals. So that the Arab child can understand the ideas and concepts that led to the events that rocked the Arab world since 2011, from Tunisia to Syria and Iraq and through Libya and Yemen.
