THE STORY

Before the final picture is a documentary film about two women trying to rebuild their life and physical appearance after being violently attack and burnt by an attack by their former partners leaving them deformed. Women who have experienced domestic violence need a process of healing both physically and emotionally from multiple traumas.  For Sanaa and Samar it is a much deeper challenge they lost their identity, their image and have to face their trauma everyday in the mirror. The film lives through their journey of rebuilding their life by reconstructing their image. They undergo many surgical operations struggle to accept themselves and how they look. They journey through their many faces trying to find themselves again and an image that they recognize. Together they help each other and inspire others. They turn pain into strength and sadness into humor. This film really is a celebration of friendship, love and resistance.

WHY THIS STORY ?
This story is about women fighting back.  It is a story of two women defying their harsh fate.  They choose to dream to live and to have hope. This film touches on many painful realities women face in today's world. Violence against women, women challenged by their body image and discrimination against women.  However it is this positive genuine spirit of these two women that transcends everything else. They refuse to give up, to accept this harsh reality they are facing and they continue to work on changing it. My mission is to make viewers look beyond their scares to forget about them like I did and really fall in love with Sanaa and Samar.

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP?
To be able to do the film the way I wish requires time. My idea is to really follow these women during a long period of transformation. I wish to portray their reality to live with them travel with them to really show how they deal with their challenges and harsh reality.  To be able to do that I need the support of friends, family and people interested to support this story.

I also need to upgrade the sound equipment I am using because sound is a huge challenge for documentary films and so far I have been borrowing or renting and its not allowing me to follow them they way I should.

The 4,000 USD will be divided in the following way:

70% :Travel AND Accommodations  and visa And post production

  30%: Equipment
