Today, you are about to become a part of my journey...
...a journey that started many years ago and is still ongoing.
Hello, my name is John Atick, and I am a Palestinian adventurer from Bethlehem. I've hiked all over Palestine, climbed every mountain, and descended into every valley. I also work as the "Trail Development Officer" at Masar Ibrahim al-Khalil, which is a 330KM long-distance hiking trail that crosses Palestine from north to south. I've lost count of number of times I walked it myself - it's beautiful!
My dream is to climb all the Seven Summits in the world. I was born and raised in Bethlehem and lived my whole life in Palestine. I hope to start with Mount Kilimanjaro and raise the flag of my country on the top of every peak.
Why I'm Doing this?
I love my country, and I want to keep Palestine close to my heart wherever I go. I want the world to know more about it, and I want to inspire others. To those who sometimes feel down, I want to show that anything is possible. To those who sometimes give up, I want to show that their life is in their hands.
My passion and love for nature have always kept me going and encouraged me to become a professional trekking guide. I earned emergency medical technician and trainer qualification from SOLO, a school of wilderness medicine in NH, United States. I also obtained a mountain leader trainer qualification from AFRAT Center in France. My gratitude goes to Masar Ibrahim al-Khalil for supporting me. Thanks to their encouragement, I've become the person that I am today.
In November 2016, I received my official trekking guide license from the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities.
Two years ago, I started on Facebook a personal page called "Wild Palestine", where I share stories about my explorations and trips. I want everybody to learn more about Palestine, and I believe that the best way to do that is through sharing the adventures together! I look forward to hiking with you soon!
Last September, I traveled to France and climbed a very technical summit in the Alps that is around 4000 meters (13,120 feet) high, and I raised the Palestinian flag on the top of it. The story inspired so many people after I made a Documentary Film about this journey and shared it on my Facebook page. It was viewed by almost 80,000 people. A few days later, Al-Quds newspaper, the biggest newspaper in Palestine, wrote an article about my achievement and that encouraged me to do even more.

Your Contribution will Help me with:
- Buying a proper gear for the climb
- Buying a flight ticket to Tanzania, Africa
- Arranging ground logistics
- Buying cookies to keep me warm at night
I plan to attempt the ascend in July 2018.
I will document my trip and share updates with you through videos, photos and blog posts. And, when I'm back at home, I will organize a photo exhibit and series of talks about my journey.
I hope that you can consider supporting me in my passion. Or, you can simply get the word out and make some noise about this campaign by using Zoomaal share tools.
It could be thanks to your contribution, that one day,
a Palestinian adventurer ascends the seven highest peaks in the world.
If you have any questions or would like to know more, please send me a message!
